29th Annual Chapin Holiday Open House | Nov 2 – 5chapin

Chapin area merchants are decking their stores for the holidays in preparation for their 29th Annual Holiday Open House, which runs November 2 – 5, 2017, and they want holiday shoppers to come check out their great merchandise. Fourteen businesses have signed up to participate in this annual holiday tradition, which features extended hours, door prizes and giveaways, special deals, refreshments, and entertainment designed to jump start the holiday spirit. According to Judy Bolton Jarrett of ArtCan Studio, this event allows area merchants to showcase their great holiday gift items and encourage the importance of shopping locally. Many of the stores will stay open until 8:00 pm on Thursday, and some will be open on Sunday afternoon. Lexington’s Holiday Open House | Nov 2 – 5

The River District Sidewalk Sale | Nov 3 – 4

Kick off the holiday season with shopping and entertainment in The River District, the area across the Congaree River around State and Meeting streets. Merchants invite guests in for money-saving specials, entertainment and light refreshments. Participating West Columbia merchants will display outside open box, discounted, and sale items in front of their businesses Friday, November 3rd and Saturday, November 4th, 2017. Craftsmen’s Christmas Classic Art & Craft Fest | Nov 3 – 5

Located at the SC State Fairgrounds (1200 Rosewood Drive), this annual event features original designs and work from over one hundred talented artists and craftspeople from across America! SVAD Annual Holiday Sale | Nov 16 – 17

Students and Faculty of the School of Visual Art and Design at USC will have handmade artworks for sale including ceramics, printmaking, photography and painting. Vista Lights | Nov 16

Starting at 5pm mix and mingle, wine and dine, and holiday shop ‘til you drop at our annual Vista Lights, a Columbia tradition. Vista Lights, the neighborhood’s signature open house, has ushered in the holidays in Columbia for more than 30 years on the Thursday before Thanksgiving. More than 90 galleries, shops, and restaurants open their doors to showcase their holiday treasures and delicious dishes. The Vista Guild also organizes live entertainment and performances to get attendees in the holiday spirit as the Mayor of Columbia lights the Vista’s tree at the corner of Gervais and Lincoln Streets. 50th Annual Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show | Nov 17 – Nov 19

37th Annual B & B Craft Show | Nov 25

Winter Wonderland Craft Fair | Nov 25

More than 150 artists and crafters from the Charlotte region will offer unique holiday gifts and decorations at the Winter Wonderland Craft Fair on Saturday, November 25th at the Anne Springs Close Greenway (288 Dairy Barn Lane, Fort Mill). All items are handmade and include pottery, jewelry, quilts, handbags, children’s clothing, woodwork, soap, candles and gourmet foods such infused olive oils. Jamil Shriners Craft Show | Nov 25 – 26

This event at the Jamil Temple (206 Jamil Road) will feature over 100 local vendors, handmade Christmas gifts, Christmas ornaments, floral arrangements, wood carvings, wood toys, leather items, on site monogramming, local honey and other crafts. Midlands Clay Arts Society 17th Annual Holiday Sale | Nov 30 – Dec 3

The 47th Annual Christmas Craft Show, held at the Odell Weeks Activity Center, is a one-stop shop where you can check off all of your holiday wish lists! The indoor/outdoor show will feature over 100 exhibitors from all over the Southeast. This two-day event includes crafts such as wreaths, wood furniture, paintings, baked goods, jewelry, holiday ornaments, ceramics, pottery and many other unique items. Refreshments will be available from multiple food vendors. Prosperity Shopper’s Walk | Dec 2

Starts at 5:30PM. Merchants have “open house” with lots of discounts! Local entertainment, visits with Santa, cookies, hot chocolate, and prize drawings are just a few things you will enjoy during the night. Families gather to enjoy shopping and entertainment amidst luminary lined sidewalks and the sounds of Christmas all in the Town of Prosperity. Sustainable Holiday 2017

10th Annual Sustainable Holiday Celebration | Dec 4

Monday: 4:30pm – 8:30pm

The 10th Annual Sustainable Holiday Celebration is bigger and better this year, so make sure you don’t miss it! On December 4th from 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the historic 701 Whaley building you can celebrate the holiday season by “buying local” and “eating local”. Guests will have the chance to shop from over 60 of the finest local craftsmen, artisans, and specialty food vendors like  Kaminsky’s, Michael’s on Main, Mr. Friendly’s, Whole Foods, and Old Mill Brew Pub. They want to thank everyone for helping them celebrate our 10th Anniversary by offering a special $5 rate.

Sustainable Midlands is a nonprofit organization and the Sustainable Holiday Celebration gives guests the opportunity to keep thousands of dollars circulating in our local economy while gaining access to amazing deals on their holiday shopping.
